Time for the Friends Used Book Sale Collection

Print More
As the memories of winter fade away and spring cleaning is in full bloom, the Friends of Granby Public Library are looking for your gently used books and learning toys for the organization’s 33rd annual used book sale.

Volunteers will be working throughout the summer at Holcomb Farm, sorting, boxing and storing donations as they come in. Items are reviewed for acceptability, since the Friends have developed a strong and loyal following at our book sale for the high quality and high value of items.

Gently used books, learning toys, CDs, DVDs, books on electronic media, puzzles and other reading-related items are accepted. They are not able to accept textbooks, magazines, condensed books, cassettes, VHS or 8-track tapes.

Donations can be dropped off at the Granby Public Library, Geissler’s, and the YMCA during normal business hours, beginning on Monday, June 8, until Saturday, August 22. Larger donations can be made on Monday evenings at Holcomb Farm (at the barn behind the painted horse) from Monday, June 8 until Monday, August 17, 6–7:30 p.m. For assistance or to make special arrangements, please call Carole at 860-653-6606.

To join the Friends volunteers, please call Carole for information on that as well. They can also use any sturdy boxes with covers, or boxes that can be completely closed. The sale will be held this year at Holcomb Farm Sept. 25–27. More information is available at www.granby-ct.gov/Public_Documents/GranbyCT_Library/friends
