Good Company Theater preps for Memory Palace

By Nikki Huggard

Rehearsals have begun for Good Company Theater’s production of Memory Palace, an original work by Vermont playwright Mara Campbell. Memory Palace is a play in two acts. It is the funny, poignant and powerful story of one family’s journey through many challenges: the death of a young son; alcoholism; sibling jealousy, and the loss of memory that often befalls the elderly. Time is fluid in the play as several actors in this ensemble cast portray him or herself in both the past and the present. The script reveals a family who discovers that honesty and humor are the needle and thread needed to repair their unraveling lives.

Guest Artistic Director Resa Ferreira, combines her knowledge of the theater and her expertise in storytelling to weave a beautiful rendition of this timely piece. Ferreira says, “I loved the show the first time I read it! And the cast – they make that love deepen every time we rehearse.”

Good Company Theater is looking forward to the premiere at South Congregational Church’s Fellowship Hall, 242 Salmon Brook St. The production will take place Jan. 9, 10, and 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 11, 17 and 18 at 2 p.m. Start the New Year off right—mark your calendars now for this extraordinary production!
