Redefining the Laundromat Experience: Laundry Works Opens in Granby

By Caitlin Larwood

Take all of your existing notions of what a laundromat of the past looks and feels like—and immediately forget them. Granby residents, the latest and greatest in laundromat technology and design is now in your neck of the woods.

Introducing: Laundry Works. This modern, clean, comfortable laundromat is now open for business. Laundry Works is located conveniently at 9 Mill Pond Road, across from the Granby car wash and within the same plaza as Stop and Shop (think multiple major errands to check off your list in the same trip).

Laundry Works offers both wash and fold service as well as best in class, energy efficient machines for self-service. In an effort to support fellow local business and propose a natural alternative to commercial detergent, Laundry Works has partnered with Lyric Hill Farm of Granby to offer environmentally friendly laundry detergent with only a few simple ingredients (the special ingredients being locally-made goat milk soap and essential oils). For more information on both pricing and the soap, please visit: www.laundryworksct.com.

Founded, owned and operated by a local family, the endeavor of opening a laundromat certainly takes skill sets of many individuals coming together. With the matriarch of the family at the helm, three children contributed their expertise in website design, marketing and social media and finance to lay the foundation for a successful business.

“Our goal is to make this a comfortable, clean, go-to laundry destination for the area,” said Jennifer Larwood, owner. “We hope Granby residents will enjoy all that Laundry Works has to offer!”
